Promise

Candid portrait of a man riding the west-bound #7 train and still-life photography fragments taken at the Junction Blvd train Station in Jackson Heights, New York City. I wasn't conscious when I was constructing this work in post-production that I was channeling how I feel (as observer) about the experience of men of African descent in North America. From the unconscious use of a faded color palette transgressing a sealed world to the absolute power of being incarcerated in a sealed vessel, as if the psyche, body, and soul of a man of African descent continue to journey in a slave ship even now in the 21st Century.
