Emergence

A woman emerges from her previous self while walking along the great hall at Grand Central Station in New York City.

I once brought monarch caterpillars to my home along with branches of their favorite plant. And I watched them eat almost non-stop for a week or so, then I watch them attach themselves under the top-board of my desk, shedding their stripped yellow skin in seconds to show this stunning pastel-emerald chrysallis (cocoon) festooned with golden specs. Then I watched them two 2 weeks later emerge as fully alive new beings.

We all go through deep changes of our psyches during our short sojourn on this earth, and I have seen women friends re-invent themselves, create themselves anew many times. I have re-invented myself a few times and the experience is often difficult but luminous in the end. I promise.
